Sam's Club has just completed the rollout of over 600 autonomous robotic Inventory Scan technology towers across the entire chain. The towers collect data such as product localization, conformity with planograms, and product stock levels and verify price accuracy. Brain Corp, an AI business that develops disruptive technologies for the robotics industry and powers over 20,000 autonomous robots worldwide, has created the Inventory Scan technology.
FREMONT, CA: “Our initial goal at Sams Club was to convert time historically spent on scrubbers to more member-focused activities. Our autonomous scrubbers have exceeded this goal. In addition to increasing the consistency and frequency of floor cleaning, intelligent scrubbers have empowered associates with critical insights. At Sams Club, we have a member-obsessed culture. These scrubbers help associates ensure products are out for sale, priced correctly and findable, ultimately making it easier to directly engage with our members,” says Todd Garner, Vice President, In-Club Product Management. Sams Club, a division of Walmart and a premier membership warehouse club, has completed a national, chain-wide rollout of Inventory Scan towers in conjunction with Brain Corp, an artificial intelligence (AI) firm developing breakthrough core technologies in robotics.
Brain Corp is now the world's leading robotic inventory scanner supplier after rolling out approximately 600 Inventory Scan towers across the chain in late January 2022.
“The speed and efficiency of the deployment of this next generation retail technology with Sams Club is a testament to the strength of our team,” says David Pinn, CEO at Brain Corp. “Through the use of Inventory Scan, Sams Clubs across the country are able to access a trove of critical inventory data in real time, which they can use to better inform decision making, run their clubs more efficiently and provide a better in-club experience for their members.”
The innovative new scanning accessory, which features a first-of-its-kind dual-purpose design, has been installed on the over 600 autonomous floor scrubbers already in use in Sams Clubs around the country. The Brain Corps drive the towers AI operating system, BrainOS, which combines industry-leading autonomy and usability with dependable hardware.
The cloud-connected Inventory Scan tower collects data as it moves autonomously throughout the club after being mounted on the scrubber. As functionality is provided, the club will receive insights such as product localization, planogram compliance, product stock levels, and price accuracy verification. Each function eliminates the need for time-consuming and potentially erroneous manual operations that might affect product availability, member satisfaction, and waste due to incorrect ordering.
