Rugged technologies are used to make sure that the workers stay connected. It helps in enhancing productivity. The rugged mobile tech helps the enterprises to get the accurate data of the site as well as workers. When people think of BYOD, they might probably think of employees bringing their mobile devices to and from a traditional office building. In reality, there are a lot of organizations where the office is not confined to the four walls and a cubicle. Given below is a list of industries where rugged technology must be used. Oil and Gas Offshore and onshore rigs offer unique environments for the oil and gas industry. When using mobile devices, they must be built to withstand just about anything, including a rig’s harsh environment of salt, chemicals, machinery, and moisture. On a more local level, oil and gas industries are using  rugged devices  to fuel delivery personnel, and service technicians in the field to more efficiently serve customers, access real-time route data, and adjust schedules on the go. Supply Chain To help supply chain and logistics workers sustain precise inventories and ensure that products are delivered to the right place at the right time, mobile devices are needed to move goods through the supply chain efficiently. These devices must be strong enough to withstand the conditions on the warehouse floor and the road. Traditional mobile devices cannot handle drops from a forklift or tremendous temperatures and rainy weather while out for delivery like a rugged device can. Retail Warehouse/ Back Office The retail warehouse and back-office ecosystem continue to develop as brick and mortar and online stores blend. Employees are equipped with versatile mobile devices that can tell consumers where their product is and when it will arrive, accurately service and bill, load trucks, and move goods in the warehouse more professionally, whether by hand or by forklift. Mobile devices that offer  enterprise-grade performance , enhanced security, flexible form factors, and versatile mounting options help optimize workflows and enhance efficiencies for retailers. As a result, they can reduce costs and improve productivity. See Also :   Top Retail Tech Companies ...Read more
Nanomaterials facilitate the use of photoelectrochemical analysis, the incorporation of light reaction and chemical sensing for biological and chemical monitoring, and the negation of the need for costly and specialized tools and operations. Nanomaterials demonstrate unexpected properties relative to their bulk counterparts; their high surface-to-volume ratio confers special physicochemical properties, including flexible functionality and improved reactivity or selectivity. From saving raw materials, energy and water, to minimizing greenhouse gasses and hazardous waste, nanotechnology's unique features will be seen in a range of goods, processes, and applications that will undoubtedly encourage environmental and climate conservation. Environmental protection is one of the most significant issues facing the human race. Over the years, people have unwittingly devastated their surroundings by making and discarding plastics, leading to climate change by mining and consuming fossil fuels and polluting the air and water with human-made creations. But now is the time to repair the ecosystem and the relationship with it, with nanotechnology poised to play a vital role in ensuring the world's future survival. Water Cleanliness Nanotechnology-based technologies can contribute to the long-term efficiency, availability, and viability of water in a variety of ways: Treatment and Remediation Nanotechnology could produce a new generation of nanomembranes for separation to allow for greater purification and desalination of water and improved means of eliminating, reducing, or neutralizing water pollutants. The latter might encompass zeolites, carbon nanotubes, Self-Assembled Monolayer on Mesoporous Supports (SAMMS), single-enzyme nanoparticles, and biopolymers, to name a few. Sensing and Detection New and upgraded sensors capable of detecting chemical and biological contaminants at low concentrations can be accomplished with nanotechnology. Nanomaterials also facilitate the use of photoelectrochemical analysis, the incorporation of light reaction and chemical sensing for biological and chemical monitoring, and the negation of the need for costly and specialized tools and operations. Pollution Prevention This concerns not only 'traditional' pollutants but also waterborne infectious diseases. For example, nanotechnologies may provide alternative chlorine-free biocides in silver and titanium dioxide catalysts for photocatalytic disinfection. Practical water-cleaning applications currently in use require the use of iron nanoparticles to extract organic solvents in groundwater. Nanoparticles spread by water and decompose solvents without draining water out of the surface, making the process more robust and inexpensive. Nanotechnology-based solutions can also eliminate hazardous waste. Titanate nanofibers serve as strong absorbents for the removal of radioactive ions like cesium and iodine from water. European manufacturers have always been ahead in the technology game as Mercedes-Benz is planning to incorporate laser sensors in its next generation car platform. Luminar Technologies Inc.'s laser sensors will be used in the next-generation car platform by Mercedes-Benz to enable semi-autonomous driving features on highways, sending the lidar maker's stock skyrocketing. Mercedes-Benz and supplier Luminar, which went public in 2020 after a 3.4 billion dollars reverse merger, declined to say which models will feature laser-based technology, how many vehicles will be produced, or when the cars will be released. Mercedes is also acquiring an undisclosed minority share in the Orlando, Florida-based company, according to Luminar. Luminar's stock soared as much as 25 percent in New York, the greatest intraday rise in almost two months. Through the close on 19 January, the stock had lost 20 percent of its value this year. Lidar, which bounces lasers off objects to enable a vehicle to see its surroundings, is a vital safety layer that enables cars to pilot themselves on highways, freeing up drivers to check email or watch a movie, according to most self-driving software developers. According to Luminar, laser sensors can also increase the performance of existing safety measures such as autonomous emergency braking. In an interview with Bloomberg Television, Luminar Chief Executive Officer Austin Russell noted that European manufacturers have been in the forefront of incorporating lidar into their vehicles to enable automated driving features. He stated that there is no doubt that the Europeans have been ahead of the game and they got in early and made a lot of good technological bets. Luminar also has a manufacturing agreement with Volvo Car AB, which wants to include a lidar-based safety system in its next electrified XC90 SUV. ...Read more
