The production of the Ocean SUV will be initiated in November, 2020 announced by Fiske during its fourth-quarter and full-year earnings call
FREMONT, CA: Fisker is on schedule to begin production of the Ocean SUV in November, 2022, with 31,000 reservations for the company's first electric vehicle, the company announced on 16 February, 2022, during its fourth-quarter and full-year earnings call. The electric vehicle company said that prototype manufacturing has begun at the Fisker Ocean assembly facility in Graz, Austria, which is run by automobile manufacturer Magna Steyr. To assist its test and validation procedure for global certification, the facility will soon be able to build two prototypes each day.
There are around 1,600 fleet bookings for the Ocean, including a 200-unit order from software provider ServiceNow. According to the numbers in the company's financial report, the company has gained around 6,000 reservations since the beginning of the year. By the end of 2021, Fisker had 6.3 million dollars in deposits. Given that Ocean SUV deposits are 250 dollars, the business presumably had over 25,000 bookings at the end of 2021. According to Fisker, the net daily retail reservation rate in 2022 has surged by more than 400 percent year-to-date compared to the previous fiscal year, and is on track to reach over 55,000.
According to CEO Henry Fisker, over 80 percent of Ocean reservations originated from North America, with the remaining coming from Europe, but the business expects that ratio to shift once operations begin in Europe. The Ocean will be introduced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week. According to Henrik Fisker, Europe will account for 40 percent to 50 percent of total demand. The majority of reservation holders, 81 percent, want to buy one of the top two trims, the Ocean Ultra, priced at 49,999 dollars, or the Ocean Extreme/One, priced at 68,999 dollars, according to a poll conducted by the firm in December 2021. This suggests that the initial average selling price will be around 56,000 dollars, and that current bookings will be honored.
