MAY-JUNE 20226 Nanotechnology: Impacting Every Walk of Modern LifeEditorialThe global nanotechnology market was valued at USD 1.97 billion in 2021 and is projected to hit $34.3 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 37.1 percent from 2022 to 2030. The ongoing technological advancements and adoption of nanotechnology in various industries are vital factors contributing to this market growth. For instance, doctors can now detect any disease at an early stage using nanotechnology, greatly improving the effectiveness of medical diagnosis. To help society construct and maintain a green economy, the associated concept of "green nanotechnology" aims to exploit innovations in materials science and engineering to generate products and processes that are energy efficient while leaving a minimal carbon footprint. These applications have also brought about a monumental change in energy production and storage, clean-up technologies, as well as construction and related infrastructure industries. In a nutshell, nanotechnology is contributing to better ecosystem and livelihood conditions by generating more energy from renewable sources, making reliable power delivery systems, and purifying water from unconventional sources or nano-enabled construction products. However, the adoption of nanotechnology comes with its fair share of practical challenges and critical environmental and social issues. There is insufficient data to assess whether nanomaterials can exhibit hazardous properties that may pose risks over prolonged exposure. It is high time that researchers make concerted efforts to assess the risk factors associated with nanotechnology. This will play a vital role in democratizing technology for the greater good of the human race. That being said, there is little doubt that nanotechnology has a bright future ahead owing to the sheer number of possibilities that it brings for accelerating growth and progress. Nanomaterials have the potential to power technologies only heard of in sci-fi, such as enabling objects to harvest energy from their environment. Nanotechnology has already improved the world in ways we could not have imagined just a few years prior, and it will keep on doing just that in the future. In light of these technological strides being made by Nanotechnology, Applied Technology Review has analyzed and put forth this edition highlighting the leading Nanotechnology Solution providers that are taking the industry by storm.Let us know your thoughts.
